My name is George Chukwuemeka Okocha

How Did You Come About the Name Jay d RapNerd?
Well, while growing up I was always called Jay or JayJay cos of my surname so it just stuck to me, even strangers when they hear my surname, the first name they call me is JayJay. I just added a lil flare to it by putting " d RapNerd" cos in d music industry we have alot of jays so I just had to b unique with mine.

Tell Us A Little About Your Family and Educational background?
I was given birth to in Lagos, Festac Town to be precise in the eighties into a family of two, am the second and last born and I have an elder sister.
I attended Nazareth nursery and primary school as a kid then Nigerian Navy Secondary School Abeokuta in Ogun State nd here I am, in University Of Agriculture Abeokuta...

How Would You Describe The Kind of Music You Do?
Well am basically am a rap artiste bt I try to add lil bit of most genres into d rap songs I do, be it RnB, club, pop, rock, highlife, and try to be versatile with it and still try to add the african or nigerian flavor into in2 it but I mainly do hiphop rap.


What Inspired You To Start Making Music?
While growing up I listened to a lot of music but then I listened to mostly rap songs and rappers like Nas, Biggie Smalls popularly know as Notorious BIG, 2pac, Talib kweli, The Roots, Lupe Fiasco, Kanye, Eminem, Rob Base, Mc Hammer, Run DMC, Bone Thugs n Harmony and so many others, and I try to rap along with them. With time I discovered I could actually put words together, make it rhyme and tell a story at the same time so it just came naturally...


What The Uniqueness of Jay d RapNerd to Other Rappers Out There?
Well am pretty handsome...ℓ☺ℓ. Seriously, it d way I rap and my delivery, most people say its d voice I have, its perfect for rap, I just believe its my total personality, am not just another "wanna-be".


Do you have any other goals in life apart from making it big in the music industry?
Well, as you know am presently studying Clothing Textile and Interior Decoration so am currently working on establishing my own fashion line or brand of which I would push alongside my music career and later an interior deco firm and its all by d will and grace of God.


So what should we expect from you in the nearest future?
As u know I hv a few singles and freestyle samples out, what you don't know is that am presently working on dropping promo copy of which am still working some of the tracks am gonna put on it and a couple of more freestyle samples...so till den we wait and keep our fingers crossed.


Where do u see yourself in the music industry in 5 years?
One of the top rated rappers and definitely on top of the game.
